THE FAMILY & WORKPLACE CONNECTION ADOPTS NEW MISSION STATEMENT;
NEW BOARD MEMBERS NAMED
(WILMINGTON, DE)—The Family & Workplace Connection announces the adoption of a new mission statement. In addition, the organization announces the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors.
At a June 17, 2005 meeting, the board adopted new language for its mission statement. The newly approved mission statement reads:
“The mission of The Family & Workplace Connection is to enhance the supply and quality of care and education for children and elders and to help families effectively manage their work and personal life responsibilities.”
“Our revised mission statement is a result of discussions by our board and staff and reflects The Family & Workplace Connection’s response to the changing needs of our clients,” said Ralph Klesius, President of The Family & Workplace Connection. “Many families today are faced with finding both quality child care for their young children and services for their aging parents and grandparents. We are responding to this great need in our community and our new mission reflects this response.”
Appointed to the board were John M. Will and Barbara S. Ridgely.
Mr. Will is a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche’s financial services consulting practice. He provides consulting services to many of the world’s largest financial services companies and specializes in assisting his clients in the management of their asset-backed security programs. He has been with the company for eight years. Mr. Will received his BS in Finance from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Ridgely is the Business Manager for the Owens Campus of Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown, DE. She has been with Delaware Technical & Community College for 27 years. Dr. Ridgely received her BA from George Washington University, her MBA from Southern Illinois University, and her EdD. from Wilmington College.
Both new board members have a longstanding interest in children and child development. Mr. Will has served as a tutor at the West End Neighborhood House in Wilmington and Dr. Ridgely was responsible for developing the concept and managing the construction and opening of the first Child Development Center at Delaware Technical & Community College.
