The Family & Workplace Connection Receives Grant
from Carl M. Freeman Foundation

The Family & Workplace Connection (FWC) is pleased to announce funding from the Carl M. Freeman Foundation through the Spring 2006 F.A.C.E.S. (Freeman Foundation Assists Communities with Extra Support) mini-grant that will be used to support FWC’s new ElderOnline program. The Carl M. Freeman Foundation is a philanthropic leader, dedicated to making a difference in Sussex County and other communities.

The Freeman grant will be used to conduct research in Sussex County for FWC’s new ElderOnline program. Launched in January 2006, ElderOnline is Delaware’s first and only comprehensive source of elder care information. This program provides the general public, the elderly, their caregivers, and elder care professionals with ongoing online access to comprehensive, current information on elder care service providers in and around the state of Delaware. The program was created based on feedback from FWC’s Elder Care Advisory Committee, comprised of representatives from all segments of the Delaware elder care community including state agencies, social service organizations, elder care service providers, senior centers, older adults and caregivers. Additional funders of ElderOnline include: AARP Delaware, AstraZeneca, Visiting Angels, Somerford Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s Care, and Griswold Special Care, Inc.

The Family & Workplace Connection is a nonprofit regional dependent care resource and referral organization whose mission is to enhance the supply and quality of care and education for children and elders and to help families effectively manage their work and personal life responsibilities.
