THE FAMILY & WORKPLACE CONNECTION RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE
DELAWARE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S YOUTH PHILANTHROPY FUND
( WILMINGTON, DE)– The Family & Workplace Connection (FWC) has received a grant from The Delaware Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Fund that will be used to support FWC’s New Castle County Child Care Resource Center.
Fifty percent (50%) of the providers who use FWC’s Resource Centers care for children whose families qualify for state subsidized child care. The grant will be used to purchase new materials for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to enhance early care and education programs for children whose families’ incomes are below the poverty level. Newly purchased resources will seek to encourage cooperation, creativity, and problem solving.
FWC operates five Child Care Resource Centers. They are located in the City of Wilmington, New Castle, North Wilmington, Dover, and Georgetown. FWC’s Child Care Resource Center Network offers a convenient way for early childhood and school-age professionals to access a variety of resources and materials to help enhance their programs. In addition, FWC also operates three mobile resource centers. Technical assistance and learning materials are delivered directly to child care programs through regularly scheduled appointments.
The Family & Workplace Connection is a nonprofit regional dependent care resource and referral organization whose mission is to enhance the supply and quality of care and education for children and elders and to help families effectively manage their work and personal life responsibilities.
