Just in Time Care Program Overview
Employers purchase the service
The Family & Workplace Connection contracts with employers interested in offering backup care as a benefit to their employees. Employers pay an operations fee for the service, plus the subsidized portion of the projected backup care costs.
Employees enroll
Interested employees submit a completed Just in Time Care enrollment form to The Family & Workplace Connection. Once enrolled, employees access Just in Time Care either online or via a toll-free hotline available 365 days a year.
Employees choose from a range of options
Backup care options include in-home care agencies; drop-in care at family care child homes, child care centers, centers for mildly ill children, adult day care centers; worksite snow day and school holiday programs; employee-identified care; and friends and family.
The Just in Time Care program offers a scope of service that:
- Is cost effective
- Is equitable
- Is easy to administer
- Attracts employee usage because of the wide range of circumstances in which it can be used, coupled with its comprehensive range of care options
- Results in a high return to the company both quantitatively (saving work days) and qualitatively (enhancing employee morale, loyalty, company image
